How to ensure your dashcam, IU unit, and other gadgets don't block your RFID signal.
In a modern car, the windscreen is prime real estate. You have your IU unit for ERP, a dashcam for safety, a phone mount for navigation, and maybe even a parking decal or two. Now, you need to add a VEP RFID tag into the mix.
The VEP RFID tag's position is determined by the fixed location of the scanners at the Malaysian border. It must be placed on the top-left (passenger side) of the windscreen, at least 5cm from any metal. This position is non-negotiable.
Feeling like you need to be a scientist to figure all this out? You don't. When you use MyMechanic's VEP service, our technicians do the thinking for you.
