Changing Your Mobile Number on the VEP Portal without Losing Data (Last Updated: March 2026)

Lost access to your VEP portal because you changed your phone number? This is a common and frustrating issue. The VEP portal uses two-factor authentication (2FA) tied to your mobile number, so losing access to your number means losing access to your account.

How to Change Your VEP Mobile Number

If you have lost 2FA access, you cannot change the number through the portal itself. Here is the official process:

  • Prepare your documents: Singapore NRIC and LTA Log Card for your vehicle.
  • Email the JPJ VEP support team with your full name, NRIC number, old phone number, new phone number, and attach your NRIC and Log Card as proof of identity.
  • The JPJ team will verify your identity and update your mobile number. This process typically takes 14 business days.
  • Once updated, you will receive a new 2FA OTP on your new number.
