Understanding how light and shadow can impact your VEP RFID scan.
Your VEP RFID tag communicates with overhead scanners using radio waves, not light. So, you might think lighting conditions wouldn't matter. However, extreme light and shadow can sometimes indirectly affect the scanning process, particularly for the cameras that verify your vehicle or for human operators.
When the sun is directly behind or in front of your car, especially during sunrise or sunset, it can create intense glare.
Crossing the border at night generally poses no direct issue for the RFID signal itself. The RFID readers emit their own radio waves, independent of ambient light.
While you can't control the sun or the night, you can control how well your VEP RFID tag is prepared for all conditions.
